Sustainability is in PBE’s DNA
“We are firm believers in everything to do with sustainable development, the rational use of energy and the recycling of waste, which we turn into value-added products and energy. It’s in our DNA.” At the office, there are recycling bins everywhere.
Reduce before you recycle
His advice: before recycling, reduce discharges and waste. In a consumer society, we need to design systems that use fewer materials and resources, so we don’t have to discard them and then recycle them.
Toward zero carbon
In PBE’s Green Tech projects, using artificial intelligence, the goal is to move away from fossil fuels and make greater use of renewable energy (sun, air), as well as new technologies, such as magnetic energy, that produce no carbon. He also pushes back on the idea that wood and biomass are always carbon neutral: that is not always true.
